As the summer season once again flies by, it’s easy to let post-summer anxiety sink in. Few things compare to the closeness of family and community that the summer season brings. Fortunately, there’s still several local events to look forward to. Rockwall’s historic downtown is an especially fun and bustling cultural hub in the summer and we’re excited to be a new part of this vibrant community! Come be a part of the action and visit the downtown farmers market operating every Saturday morning from 8:00am-12:00pm! Our market boasts over 30 vendors and includes a large range of local produce, meat, honey, fish and more! There are 10 public parking lots in and around the square, so don’t let the fear of finding a parking spot stop you! Along with the weekly markets, the city of Rockwall has established “The San Jacinto Music Series”, a new live series featuring local musicians every Friday and Saturday evening from 6:30pm-9:00pm through September. Both weekly events are family friendly so bring the kiddos, the grandparents and the doggos. Located in the middle of the action, the Book Club Cafe has all of your summer essentials for beating the heat! Come try the newest addition to our local beer selection, the Grapevine Monarch. This light, crisp, and refreshing pilsner is the perfect summer beer. If you’re looking for something a little sweeter, try our new Summer Shandy featuring Community Helles mixed with our homemade honey lemonade.13654262_1811190725771605_2278729767753337929_n

For the kiddos, we have homemade chocolate milk, honey lemonade, Virgil’s Real Cola, St. Arnold’s Root Beer and root bee
r floats.  We’ve also recently introduced three new incredible, all-natural, no nitrates, hot “dawgs” to our lunch and dinner menu. These include the “Cubby”- a hot dawg topped with sweet relish, dill pickle, onion, tomato and house mustard, the “El-Hot-Doggo”- topped with sautéed onion, jalapeño and jalepeno cheddar and house made pico, and the “Delbert”- topped with bacon, cheese sauce and tomato! We’re also introducing “The Big Ragoo”. This big and bold, Italian sandwich is served on our house made hoagie roll and filled with marinara, soppresatta, peppers, onions, and parmesan and will certainly change your life (in a good way, of course). So that’s what’s going on in our neck of the woods! Thank you for making our first summer memorable! We hope to add to your summer memories as well, providing a laid back and comfortable environment and as always creating natural and locally sourced food that inspires nostalgic memories of lovingly prepared meals and invaluable time spent with family and friends.  So come hang out with us downtown and make the most of our rapidly growing, but just as close-knit and caring community
